As I was listening to the audiobook of Foundation’s Edge — by science fiction master Isaac Asimov — during my daily neighborhood walk this morning, I came across this wonderful quote:
“When one’s home has a really excellent computer capable of reaching other computers anywhere in the Galaxy, one scarcely needs to budge, you know.”
What was science fiction in the early 1980s when Asimov wrote this book has now become reality, at least on a planetary scale. As for a galactic Internet ... who knows?
